A list of websites that provide locations of electric vehicle charging stations allows EV drivers to take their EVs beyond one-charge range, increasing the amount of zero-emssions driving they can accomplish.

Driving an electric car is generally pretty easy, and a bit infectious, in a good way. There’s a reason we call it the “EV Grin”; that look on the face of the first time EV driver or passenger. EVCO Collaborates on its First Level 2 Charger

EVCO Charger at CSTM

The Electric Vehicle Council of Ottawa is pleased to announce the installation of a no-fee, public-acess Level 2 (J1772-standard) charger at the Canada Science and Technology Museum. The charger was donated by Sun Country Highway, and a donation from EVCO convinced the museum to undertake the remaining costs for the installation.

EVCO is especially proud that this charging station will be dedicated to Fred Green.

Ontario invests $80 million in EV recharging

Seed money will fund electric car charging development

The Ontario provincial government announced it would set aside an $80 million fund to channel seed money to public and private companies who want to develop electric car recharging facilities.

Premier Dalton McGuinty is hoping this will encourage companies to draft proposals to build and test rechharging docks, and also to expand the availability of rechargers in the province.

E-Beetle at Parliament Hill

The "e-Beetle" ( http://ebeetle.ca/ ) is an electric car project from the University of British Columbia Electric Car Club. It drove through Ottawa on Sept 1, 2010, on it's quest to be the first Battery Electric Vehicle to drive across Canada.
