Ontario Green Energy Act

Ontario is now moving quickly to remove some of the barriers to adding green and renewable energy production to the grid.

There was a presentation by the Ontario Sustainable Energy Association in advance of the introduction of the Green Energy Act in at Queen's Park, in Ottawa at the R.A. Centre. The purpose was to rally support behind many of the concepts and to lobby your MPP into supporting the act. This same presentation has been around much of Ontario.

Given the majority government, and the fact that McGuinty (Premier) and Smitherman (Energy) are behind it, there's little doubt it will become law. However, it doesn't hurt to make sure they hear what you like or don't like about it.

Attached are two documents, (found on the OSEA web site) which can give you some information about the act from a third party.

The actual Bill 150 as introduced can be found online at the Ontario government site here, and a PDF version (from the government site) is attached.
