The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) has mandated that all 58 local distribution companies (LDC – such as Hydro Ottawa) in Ontario follow a standardized and streamlined process for connecting non-residential EV charging infrastructure that requires modifications or additions to the distributor’s distribution system. The new regulations come into effect on May 27, 2024. The new regulations include deadlines that must be followed by the LDC.
